Principal announcement
Last Friday the Dr Paul Owens, Director, Educational Leadership, Bondi Network announced the appointment of Ms Cathy Archer to the position of Principal of Rose Bay Secondary College. Ms Archer wishes to thank all the school community for the messages of support and goodwill she has received. If you did not receive the email communication about the Principal appointment, please contact our office.
Executive Report
This week, we held our annual Sports Celebration Assembly, recognising the outstanding achievements of our students in sport throughout the year. The assembly celebrated the dedication and effort of our age champions from each of our school carnivals, showcasing the spirit of determination and fair play that defines our school community. Additionally, we acknowledged the efforts of students and staff who participated in the Premier’s Sporting Challenge, highlighting our commitment to promoting active and healthy lifestyles.
Congratulations to all participants and award recipients!
We also host the Year Group Celebration Assemblies, where we celebrated the diverse achievements of our students across various areas, including academics, extracurricular activities, and community contributions. These assemblies also featured performances by our talented student bands, adding a touch of creativity and entertainment to the celebrations.
As we approach the end of the term, students have also been busy completing a number of assessments. We encourage everyone to stay on top of their studies by setting aside regular time for revision, organising their notes, and practising self-care to ensure balance. Developing effective study habits now will help set students up for success.
Upcoming Events
We’re thrilled to share some exciting events happening soon:
- MADD Night (Music, Art, Dance, Drama) will showcase the exceptional talent of our creative arts students.
- VFest is just around the corner—a student film festival organising by Miss Cave.
Let’s continue to celebrate our successes and support each other in achieving our best. We look forward to seeing everyone at these memorable events!
School Behaviour Management Plan
As part of the Department of Education's Behaviour policy , every Public School in NSW is required to have a School Behaviour Management Plan published and in the public domain at the start of 2025. Please find linked/attached our draft plan. Feedback can be given via the QR code and we welcome all suggestions. Please note that the uniform section will be updated by the start of Term 1. We have had a fantastic response to this focus and it has been wonderful to see the pride with which our students are consistently wearing our uniform. It has only been a very small number of students who have needed to be provided with uniform over this term. We thank parents for supporting this initiative.
Parent Communication Platforms
Please see important information below regarding the Sentral and Schoolbytes Apps for parents.
IEF News

Their dedication to mastering new skills and expressing their creativity through dance has been truly inspiring. The IEF team is excited to showcase their hard work and talent during this much-anticipated event. Thank you for making this opportunity possible!

TAFE NSW –Apprenticeships & Traineeships
Here is a great quick summary all about apprenticeships, traineeships, school based apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship courses. It covers how long they take and who can apply for these opportunities.
From Barangaroo to the Sydney Metro project, from WestConnex to new residential builds, New South Wales is a state in construction. We need apprentices. We need to build a strong pipeline of skilled tradespeople.
The NSW Government recognises this and has now made it even easier for you to become (or employ) an apprentice. They’re investing over $285 million to fund the qualification fees for 100,000 new apprentices. So what are you waiting for? Become an apprentice today.
