Newsletter Week 8, Term 3
From the Senior Executive
Thank you and farewell to the 2022 SRC Captains
On Friday we celebrated the outstanding work of the 2022 SRC Captains. They have led the highlights of the school year, including Valentine’s Day, Halloween, The World’s Greatest Shave and Battle of the Bands. These events enrich our school community and make lasting memories for all our students.
Deputy Principal Ms Buckley gave the following address.
"It is a great honour to be a captain at a school. It means that you have gained the trust, not only of your teachers and deputies and principal, but of your peers – you have been trusted to advocate for them and be their voice. That is truly an honour.
It has also been an absolute honour to see you all grow into leaders. It is no small sacrifice you have made during your final year of schooling, with all the extra responsibilities that it entails. We can only hope that you take these leadership experiences, your drive, your problem solving, your passion in making Rose Bay a great place for all, into whatever field and whatever community and whatever bright future you choose.
I would like to thank Nicola, Timothy, Zara, Will, Aliza, Alejandro, Chaii Ki, Maya, Talia, Alexia, Oliver, Maya, Toby and Nicholas for all their service to Rose Bay Secondary College.
You have absolutely demonstrated that you are made of the right stuff – now go out and change the world."

Ultimate Frisbee State Championships
On Monday the 29 August, a group of 15 Year 12 boys went to Meadowbank Park to compete in the Senior State Championships of Ultimate Frisbee. They competed against 16 other teams from across New South Wales in 6 games across the day. The RBSC team made their way through the day winning game after game, only losing in the semi-finals to be put into the bronze medal match. We finished the day in 3rd place, thanks to the incredible effort of every player on the team. Alec, our assistant coach for the day, kept the stats and found that every player on the team either scored at minimum a goal or an assist, which shows how much of a collaborative team RBSC has created.
Congratulations to all the boys on the team, and I look forward to seeing you progress even further in Ultimate Frisbee over the coming years.
An additional congratulations goes to Edan and Fred, who represented NSW on the U18s team during the July school holidays, and Edan will also be representing Australia on the U20s team during the September school holidays.
